The head physician of the hospital in Kommunarka, Denis Protsenko, said that the hospital is “rapidly filling up” with patients infected with COVID-19. The physician wrote about the increase in the incidence in his Telegram-channel.
Protsenko called the current situation in intensive care units difficult. In his opinion, this is due to several factors at once: the beginning of the school year, the end of vacations and the traditional seasonal increase in the incidence. In addition, the doctor said that the level of vaccination against coronavirus remains quite low.
“But we must continue to live,” concluded Protsenko, adding that he sees the solution to the problem in early diagnosis. Protsenko noted that he considers the actions of the Moscow Government to be correct, which organized a mass express test. This plays an especially important role in schools, since children are often asymptomatic, infecting the older generation.
Protsenko reminded Muscovites that vaccination is the only protection against COVID-19. “The virus went on the offensive again,” the doctor explained, noting that this was confirmed by the situation in the “red zone” of Kommunarka.
Earlier, free express testing points for COVID-19 were opened in 20 public places and the MFC Moscow. Anyone can come there without an appointment.
