The General Customs of the Republic of Cuba began to apply a government measure that authorizes until December 31 next imports of food and medicines by travelers from abroad “without value limits and exempt from paying duties.”

In this way is “without temporary effect” the permanent Cuban regulations in this regard entitled “Limit for the determination of the Commercial Nature of imports made by natural persons by any means, and the general interpretation notes for their application”, issued in June 2014.

That regulation limit the quantities of each merchandise that travelers bring to the country. It was warned that travelers should take into account in their imports international regulations for products that cannot enter through the borders, including drugs or medicines with these effects.

Matanzas province (West), the current epicenter of the pandemic on the island, reported another 1,732 cases on the last day, followed by Ciego de Avila (909), Havana (760) and Santiago de Cuba (462).
Regarding the vaccination process against COVID-19, in the Caribbean nation there have been administered more than 8.2 million doses of vaccines of national production and more than 3.3 million people have received at least one dose of one of the Cuban vaccine candidates.
