As announced in August by Slightly Mad Studio itself, today is farewell day to Project CARS 2 from Steam and other digital stores. Therefore, it will no longer be possible to buy it, but obviously those who own a copy can continue to play it.
The cause is attributed to a non-renewal of some licenses, probably of cars and circuits, perhaps too expensive at the moment, considering also that it is a game of five years ago. However, it is one of the best racing games of recent years, thanks to Live Track 3.0 able to make the circuits really dynamic based on weather and temperatures and a deeper driving model than classic arcade sims.
Unfortunately Project CARS 3 was unable to give continuity to the project, veering heavily towards the arcade. Apparently, however, Slightly Mad Studio wants to go back to the origins immediately, since Project CARS 4 will return to being as simulative as possible in this racing game range.
