The Federal Consumer Protection Office (Profeco) warned that there are companies that promote themselves to customers as “credit managers“, whose job is supposedly to operate as an intermediary between the person requesting the money and some financial institution, regularly before the banks.
The supposed benefit that they promote and for which they are an option for many people, is that they promise get the money immediately, in large amounts and without the person having to provide a guarantee or guarantee of payment. They are sold to customers as “the solution” to their problems and as the key to access to an immediate loan.
However, the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) indicates that great care must be taken when applying for a loan. Sometimes, in an emergency and out of desperation to obtain cash quickly, we resort to this type of loan, but they are a risk and you should be alert so as not to be disappointed.
Signs to identify fraudulent loans:
- The information about the service they provide is not precise or clear.
- They request minimum requirements and offer attractive sums of money.
- They only undertake to perform administration and paperwork services before a bank.
- They oblige the payment of commissions and fees for research services, but never deliver the loan.
- In their advertising they assure that, for the granting of the credit, it is not necessary to comply with a guarantee or prove economic income.
- They offer not to check credit history with credit information companies.
- They guarantee the delivery of the loan immediately.
- They are advertised nationally through the print media or by “flyers,” offering so-called immediate solutions to financial problems.
Other methods used by these gangs to “hunt” clients or victims is through Courier services like WhatsApp, Telegram, social networks like Facebook, even by text messages to your cell phone.
The recommendation of the Profeco is Do not answer to this type of messages in which immediate loans are offered. It is also important that, if you started the process of requesting that credit, but deposits are required for an alleged “commission for opening credit or for procedures and paperwork“, understand that there is a clear sign of fraud and that if you deliver that money you will not see it come back.
It is important that, in all types of credits, you always carefully review the terms and conditions under which these services are offered. If you need, for example, a payroll or personal loan, go directly to the bank with an executive, inside the branch, to resolve any questions you may have.
In the case of these independent lenders or “managers”, do not make the mistake of giving them your personal documents, much less those related to credit or debit card data.
If you are at the moment in which you must pay the supposed commission for “management expenses”, make sure that the credit is really viable, that it exists, the safest thing is that at this moment you detect that they wanted to scam you and it is time to walk away.
The National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Users of Financial Services (Condusef) recommends that credit applications be made before a formal and Czech financial institution if they have registration with Condusef.
