Prodeus finally has one release date on PC and console and it is definitely close, being September 23, 2022: on the same date, the game will also be launched directly within Xbox Game Passannounced Humble Games and Bounding Box Software.
The game is an interesting one first person shooter which deliberately recalls the most classic style of the genre, taking cues from Doom, Quake and titles of the genre but reinterpreting them in a modern key. Prodeus actually takes it graphic style of the 90s FPS and transposes it into 3D graphics, through a rather refined technique, which allows a perfect blend of two apparently difficult to reconcile graphic styles.
In fact, what comes out is a shooter with the graphics that one would expect from a game of the 90s but in a modern 3D game context, with a very special and high-impact effect. Beyond the technological wonders, Prodeus still focuses a lot on gameplay, which is fast, dynamic and challenging like that of the good old days.
Inside we find a Campaign built by veterans of the FPS industry, with the possibility of playing also in cooperative and competitive multiplayer, as well as a level editor totally integrated into the game, which allows you to create and share new experiences directly from the community (feature present only on PC, at the moment).
From what can also be seen in the new trailer, which shows Prodeus in version 1.0, it seems to be a sort of “Boomer Shooter” par excellence, according to the neologism coined to identify this type of projects. The release is therefore set for September 23 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and Nintendo Switch, with simultaneous launch in the Xbox Game Pass catalog.
