Female job seekers took the initiative to enter the private tutoring market, after obtaining “private tutoring work permits”, which were approved by the Ministries of Education, Human Resources and Emiratisation, with the aim of enhancing the educational process and ensuring the governance of private tutoring.
In detail, Iman Al-Yamahi said that she had allocated a suitable place for students, including tables and a projector to explain pictures and present educational videos, in addition to mental games, such as dice, which work to strengthen arithmetic skills, while developing study plans for each student in accordance with his abilities, skills, and educational stage.
She added that she considers private lessons an opportunity to transfer her experience and skills to students and share her knowledge with them.
She pointed out that she was not satisfied with giving private lessons, but through her experience she acquired skills that helped her organize summer courses, taking advantage of students’ vacations between semesters to strengthen reading and writing skills in Arabic and English for different educational stages.
She noted that the decision to issue permits for private lessons is in the interest of the teacher and the student by preserving the rights of both sides. It also contributes to organizing the educational process and preserving the psychological, physical and cultural safety of students by codifying it.
She continued that the steps for registering the permit were easy, noting that she completed the registration process electronically.
A female citizen who gives private lessons (Umm Shahd) stated that she graduated from the university with a major in information systems. She said: “I was looking for a job, but the available jobs were no longer compatible with my responsibilities at home after marriage,” adding that the nature of her personality did not allow her to remain without doing work, which made her begin giving private lessons to students, after her family members encouraged her. What helped her achieve financial independence.
She confirmed that she received positive feedback from the students' parents after she promoted herself through the WhatsApp application.
She indicated that she submitted an application to obtain a private lessons permit as soon as the decision was issued, especially since she fulfilled all of its conditions, represented by the last academic degree she obtained, a certificate of good conduct, valid identification papers, a “medically fit” certificate, and others.
She stressed that the experience was wonderful and useful for students and teachers.
Another citizen who gives private lessons, Noura Ali Muhammad, said that she worked as a teacher for years, which is why she preferred to give private lessons immediately after the decision was issued, considering that it is the professional field in which she excelled.
She explained that she succeeded in establishing a distinguished relationship with her new students, noting that her previous experiences made her able to know the correct methods to make the class fruitful and useful. She noted that the decision allowed her to return to the field of teaching and benefit from her experience without negatively affecting her family life.
