Based on a report, it appears that Private Division has closed the publishing agreement for Bloober Team’s new horror identified as Project C, with the contract apparently lapsed and perhaps needs to be renewed with another publisher.
Bloober Team is the Polish studio that is also working on the remake of Silent Hill 2 shown just recently. The team has several projects underway and among these there is also a survival horror currently identified as “Project C”which was supposed to be produced and published in collaboration with Private Division but on which the agreements apparently ended.
There was no official announcement from the companies, but the document awaiting the lapse of the agreements was reported by Twitter user MauroNL, one of those specialized in scouring the internet for documents.
Will Bloober Team have to look for a new publisher?
The agreement between Bloober Team and Private Division was signed in September 2021 and within the terms there was the possibility of ending the relationship even before the game was completed. This seems to be exactly what happened, given that the title should still be in development.
At this point, Bloober would be looking for a new publisher to carry on the project, unless contacts with Private Division resume, but given the current situation of the label in question this eventuality seems rather remote.
As we have seen, Take-Two appears to be actively dismantling Private Divisionwith the still unofficial but at this point evident closure of the Kerbal Space Program and OlliOlli teams, numerous layoffs and perhaps even the desire to completely close the division, which had been created for the publishing of indie titles and similar.
