Paradox has announced that it has Prison Architect 2 postponed for the third time a few weeks after its debut. The launch was scheduled for September 3 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, while at the moment the publisher prefers not to commit itself on a new date of exit.
The reason is that the developers need a considerable amount of time to complete the work on the game, especially after the feedback from the latest internal tests has shown that the game needs “improve both performance and content quality“.
Paradox’s words
“We have some difficult news to share: unfortunately, we will not be releasing Prison Architect 2 on September 3rd because we need to improve both the performance and content of the game. Reads the statement announcing the delay. “Our internal reviews and beta testing groups have highlighted that There are some areas of the game that need improvement to ensure you get the best experience possible in Prison Architect 2.”
“At this stage, we cannot commit to a new release date, as we have to reevaluate the scope of the work to be done before the game is ready for release. Over the next few months, we will be focusing on improving the game and building a more solid release schedule. This also means that we will be limiting communication with all of you until we have a timeline we are comfortable with.”
“This decision is in line with our commitment here at Paradox to review and improve the quality of the content we publish. We believe that delaying Prison Architect 2 is the best path forward for the game, allowing us more time to deliver a high-quality experience that honors the legacy of Prison Architect.”
As mentioned at the beginning, this is the third delay for Prison Architect 2 in a few months. The launch was initially scheduled for March 26, then it was moved to May 7 and then to September 3. Now the game doesn’t even have a specific release date, a sign that the problems encountered by internal tests could be quite impactful, with the hope that they will be resolved soon.
