Epstein: Prince Andrew without escort or house for 30 million
Prince Andrew could lose both the right to live in his 31-bedroom mansion and the right to the royal escort paid for by taxpayers. These are the latest rumors that emerged about the second son of Queen Elizabeth II, who fell from grace due to the trial he will undergo in the USA to answer the accusations of Virginia Giuffre. The woman reports that she was the victim of abuse by the prince as well as being forced by Geffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell into prostitution. The mansion is called Royal Lodge and is located approximately three miles from Windsor Castle. It was the former home of the Queen Mother and today has a market value of around £ 30 million. The prince came into possession of it in 2007, paying a contribution of 1 million to the royal estate to keep it in possession for 75 years.
Prince Andrew: no more public life
After the purchase, the Duke of York spent 7 and a half million pounds to renovate the royal house, also equipping it with an indoor swimming pool. Ex-wife Sarah Ferguson also lives there in a separate area. According to the Sun, the prince may now be forced to move to Frogmore Cottage, the former home of Harry and Meghan and pay for the escort himself. Real sources say he will never return to public life again. The queen would consult on Wednesday evening with the heirs to the throne Charles and William. In particular, the nephew would have insisted on the harder line towards his uncle who, it seems, did not take it well. Andrea has always been considered the queen’s favorite son. Palace sources say that the decision to take away his military honors and ban him from public life was one of the hardest for the sovereign.
It seems that the prince is looking for a deal with Giuffre, for a value that is rumored to be around 10 million pounds and that to have the money available he is selling the chalet he owns in Verbier, Switzerland. Meanwhile Rachael Maskell, Labor MP elected in the city of York, has asked that the title “Duke of York”, given the circumstances, be removed. Yesterday in a tweet he said: “It is untenable for the Duke of York to hold on to his title one more day. This association with York must end. There is a very serious accusation against this privileged man.” For now the queen has not pronounced herself on the matter but it is not excluded that, if the request should have a certain response, the measure will be taken. On the other hand, the charities with which the prince worked have all distanced themselves, it is not surprising that York wants to follow the same path.
