Prime Minister The Prime Minister continued to spend the evening despite receiving information about Korona exposure – the Prime Minister’s Office will discuss the events on Wednesday

According to Henrik Haapajärvi, the State Secretary to the Prime Minister, the meeting will cover the lessons of the weekend’s events in general and possible issues to be developed.

Government the chancellery is scheduled to discuss the weekend’s events with the foreign minister at a meeting scheduled for Wednesday Pekka Haaviston (green) after the corona infection, says the prime minister’s secretary of state Henrik Haapajärvi.

Haapajärvi himself planned to discuss the matter with Marin on Tuesday, among other things.

Marin’s activities have caused a great deal of controversy, as he spent the evening in Helsinki’s nightlife even after hearing about Haavisto’s infection. Marin had been in the same meetings with Haavisto.

Wednesday According to Haapajärvi, the meeting is intended to go through the lessons of the weekend’s events in general and possible things to be developed.

Haapajärvi says that the intention is also to review how ministers are instructed in exposure situations.

“In the past, when people didn’t have vaccines, we had different policies and procedures. Now that people have vaccines, now then the situation is a bit new when it looks like it [koronavirus] however, goes through vaccines in a bad way. We have to go through this pattern in this respect as well. ”

Haapajärvi himself forwarded to Marin at about 7 p.m. on Saturday that the foreign minister had been infected. In this context, he said the situation will not lead to special action.

Later, however, the Government Office instructed two different text messages to avoid contacts. These messages did not reach the exposed Marin until Sunday because he did not have office phone with you.

THL’s guidance is that vaccinees twice do not need to automatically avoid contact after exposure.

Why not Haapajärvi called Marin again when the call to avoid contact came from a government office?

Haapajärvi says that he received messages urging him to avoid contacts. He did not call Marin again, as he did not know that the Prime Minister had not received any messages.

“In retrospect, it should have been ensured that he had read them, or at least that he was aware of the content.”

Haapajärvi emphasizes that, as has been reported in the past, the Prime Minister will always be available if needed.

Was it not the case, therefore, that the issue of avoiding contact was considered so important that he should necessarily have been reached?

“The default was that those messages had already arrived that night. That should have been ensured. ”

The purpose of the Government is now to find out whether the messages sent by the Government Situation Center can also be sent to the telephones of Parliament, as Marin had on Saturday.

Haapajärvi assumes that more information on this issue will be available at Wednesday’s meeting.
