They return to the fray and warn that they are not going to continue doing tasks that they consider not to be theirs
The coordinators of the Primary Care teams in the Region are running out of patience. Four months after they signed a statement calling for more investments and warning that the current deficits can “endanger the normality of the first level of health”, they have returned to the fray and warn that they will not continue doing tasks that they consider bureaucratic and that they do not correspond. The 77 coordinators of the 86 health centers in the Region that signed that statement in May have written another warning of “our concern about the slow evolution of the process of negotiation and implementation of changes for the improvement of primary care that has been abandoned for years and now emptied, in some areas, by the flight of health professionals ».
Among the group of coordinators there is a general feeling of “discomfort, dissatisfaction and mistrust”. They denounce that the agreements reached with the Ministry to improve the situation “have not been implemented uniformly in the different managements of the Murcian Health Service.”
The coordinators warn that “after the three months that we were asked for tolerance to put in place mechanisms that would guarantee that all administrative procedures generated at the second level of care, including concerted centers, would be resolved from where the care was carried out, None of these bureaucratic procedures will be carried out in Primary Care, requesting firm and urgent actions to reverse this inertia. To this end, these procedures will be derived to the circuits created in some managements. The coordinators consider that “this measure, which favors both citizens and primary care professionals, will allow us to dedicate the little time we have in consultation, our most valuable resource, to the clinical care of our patients, who are increasingly complex due to population aging, the expansion of the portfolio of services together with the delay in care in the hospitals of the Region».
Last May, the medical coordinators of 77 of the 86 health centers in the Region of Murcia signed a document in which they demanded that the Murcian Health Service take immediate action to solve the problems that primary care drags, and just a few days ago the doctors made public their discomfort at how the afternoon modules have been paid for this summer.
