Trier – The Trier bishop Stephan Ackermann has forbidden a priest to perform priestly services because of the allegation of sexual abuse and released him from his work in a parish community.
The diocese handed over the case to the public prosecutor, said a spokeswoman in Trier. The accusation relates to a point in time around 13 years ago. A preliminary investigation under church law had been opened, but was suspended until the public prosecutor’s investigation was completed.
