Amid growing tension over Russia’s possible invasion of Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged that the sanctions be made public in case the attack occurs.
In conversations with CNN at the Munich Security Conference, Zelensky questioned the position of only making the sanctions list public if the invasion took place.
“We don’t need your sanctions after the bombing and after the country is on fire or after we don’t have borders, or after we don’t have an economy… why would we need those sanctions then,” questioned the president who, in In recent weeks, he has faced the crisis that has the world on edge.

This Saturday, Russian President Vladimir Putin was present at military exercises in which missiles were fired. This latest action has set off alarms around the world and, especially, those of the United States, which considers that the invasion of Ukraine is imminent.
However, while all this is happening, in Munich, several European leaders are meeting for the Security Conference. There Zelensky, in addition to questioning the non-announcement of sanctions, proposed a meeting with Putin to find a peaceful solution.
“I don’t know what the Russian president wants, that’s why I propose that we meet,” said Zelensky, who also made firm his intention to annex Ukraine to NATO. Such accession would represent a red line for Russia.
