President Jair Bolsonaro participates in the morning of this Saturday (30), of the opening of the 16th Summit of Leaders of the G20, a group formed by the 20 largest economies in the world, in Rome, Italy. Upon arriving at the event, the Brazilian president was received by Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.
The meeting continues until tomorrow (31), with discussions centered on economics and global health, climate change and sustainable development. Bolsonaro is in the Italian capital accompanied by the ministers of Foreign Affairs, Carlos França, and the ministers of Economy, Paulo Guedes.
At the end of the meeting, the Declaration of Rome by the G20 Leaders should be released, with the consensus of government officials in various areas. In parallel events, two themes will also be discussed: support for small and medium-sized companies and companies run by women and the role of the private sector in the fight against climate change.
Brazil will defend robust responses for post-pandemic economic recovery and international trade with fewer tariff barriers, highlighting that international trade and investments are powerful instruments for promoting sustainable development. In this sense, the reforms of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) will also be discussed. Another priority for Brazil is social inclusion and the participation of less influential populations in common prosperity.
