Mexico City.- Morena and her allies yesterday won the election, by winning four of the six governorships in dispute.
With these results, the party founded by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador will go from 17 to 21 governorships, which represents 65 percent of the states of the country.
Until 2021, Morena governed 17 states, in which little more than 58 million Mexicans.
Now, that political force will govern almost 71 million Mexicanswhich represents 56 percent of the total population.
The morenista candidates snatched the states of Quintana Roo and Tamaulipas from the PAN, and left the PRI out in Oaxaca and Hidalgowhere for political alternation is registered for the first time.
In Tamaulipas, although both coalitions declared themselves winners, the quick count confirmed the advantage of the morenista flag bearer, Américo Villarreal, with about 8 points.
On the other hand, after a close contest, Morena lost in the Durango electionwhere the Va por México coalition was victorious.

In Aguascalientesdespite the mobilization of thousands of operators, Morena was defeated at the polls and failed to prevail over the PAN’s standard-bearer, Teresa Jiménez.
The official results showed a trend irreversible of more than 30 points in favor of the panista.
In the first moment, Mario Slim, Morena’s national leader, assured that his party had achieved victory in five of the six disputed states.
However, as the hours passed, the Morenista leader learned of the official counts that forced him to adjust the figure to four out of six.
According to the results reported by the electoral bodies, the PAN will go from eight to five governors, while the PRI will go from four to three.
The blue and white will head the government in the states of Aguascalientes, Chihuahua, Guanajuato, Querétaro and Yucatán, while the tricolor will remain with Durango, Coahuila and the State of Mexico, the latter, with election scheduled for 2023.
After these elections, the PAN will go from governing 23.2 million to 16 million Mexicans and the PRI governments from 27.4 to 22 million inhabitants.
