An earthquake of preliminary magnitude 5.1 shook the municipality of Pinotepa Nacional, Oaxaca, reported the National Seismological Service. The earthquake was perceived in nearby areas and caused the seismic alerts of the city of Oaxaca and Chilpancingo, in Guerrero, to be activated.
On Twitter, the National Seismological Service detailed that the earthquake originated 7 kilometers southwest of Pinotepa Nacional at around 8:13 p.m., with a depth of 10 kilometers.

In this regard, the Mexican Seismic Alert System reported that alerts were activated in Oaxaca, Chilpancingo, Acapulco and Puebla.
So far, authorities have not reported damage caused by the earthquake.
