Jeff Strain, one of the founders of Undead Labs, team responsible for the State of Decay series now joined by Xbox Game Studios, has created a new team called Possibility Space, also composed of several other veterans of the videogame industry from famous teams.
Strain is also one of the co-founders of ArenaNet, a team known for the famous MMO Guild Wars, then switched to NCsoft. From here he then founded Undead Labs and subsequently left the latter team to found the new Possibility Space, which seems willing to develop something very different from what has been done so far.
“We feel the time has come to create something new – a studio built from the ground up to embrace the evolving needs and perspectives of gamers and developers,” Strain said of the new team and project in development. This idea was also born from the period of uncertainty and anxiety caused by the pandemic: “That fear and that isolation have been the catalysts for Possibility Space, a modern videogame studio, where we are creating a game full of joy that I have dreamed of for some time. I am happy and grateful to the team for choosing to share this vision with me and bring it to life. “
After working on zombie invasion games with State of Decay, developing something “full of joy” actually seems like a distinct change of mood. It should be noted that the Possibility Space team has several highly experienced developers within it, also coming from Ubisoft, Valve, Warner Bros, Electronic Arts, Campo Santo and others.
