First Herbert Diess, now Oliver Blume. The possible listing on the stock exchange of the Porsche brand it needed clarification and above all a denial by both the number one of the Volkswagen Group and the CEO of Zuffenhausen. After the intervention of the number one from Wolfsburg it was in fact Blume to address the issue, underlining how the Teutonic brand is at ease within VW where it can benefit from various synergies and profit from belonging to a solid reality.
“We feel very comfortable in the Volkswagen Group, we can benefit from synergies. The important thing right now is to focus on the transformation “ – explained Oliver Blume during an interview with Automobilwoche, an offshoot of Automotive News Europe. The number one from Zuffenhausen thus wanted to deny the speculations that the Porsche spin-off operation was well underway, an operation carried out by VW along the lines of what FCA did with Ferrari in the past. Even if Blume wanted to point out that the brand is an integral part of the group, it is not certain that the possible spin-off is not in any case on the decision-making table. In October, the German magazine Manager Magazin reported the rumor that the investment bank Goldman Sachs and the law firm Freshfields were two of the consultants working on a possible listing. We will have to wait for the next few months to understand what the intentions of the Volkswagen Group will be, currently also grappling with a small internal crisis that sees CEO Herbert Diess in the eye of the storm.
