The name is really long but the anniversary to celebrate is undoubtedly one of the most significant. Porsche Design turns 50 and presents a special limited edition 911 Targa GTS. This is the Porsche 911 Edition 50 Years Porsche Design, produced in only 750 units that will be accompanied by an exclusive Chronograph 1 watch. The first deliveries of this limited edition are scheduled for spring.
The design of the Porsche 911 Edition 50 Years is inspired by some iconic elements of the range and boasts a solid black livery (optional Jet Black metallic color), with the exception of the “Targa” bar which is in Satin Platinum, the same solution that can also be chosen for the “Porsche Design” decorative film on the doors. Based on the 911 Targa GTS, it features 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels painted in Satin Platinum with hub caps featuring colored Porsche badges. The brake calipers on the other hand are made in glossy black, as well as the main features of the standard Sport Design package. The special edition also features an exclusive ‘Porsche Design 50th Anniversary Edition’ badge on the rear hood grille slats while the ‘911’ logo on the rear apron is black.
The interior is made of Sport-Tex with special features in black leather while the contrasting stitching is in slate gray. The seat center panels have a classic checked pattern in black and cool gray. Adaptive Sports Plus seats with memory package are standard, as is the Sport Chrono package with Porsche Design Subsecond clock on the dashboard. Here also stand out the signature of Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the founder of the Design division and the plate with the serial number indicating the limited production. To push this celebratory edition of Porsche 911 there is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine which delivers a power of 473 hp and 569 Nm of torque available in conjunction with the eight-speed double clutch gearbox. Alternatively, the seven-speed manual is also available.
