The party of the former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko “European Solidarity” called on the Ukrainian authorities to investigate the death of the leader of the organization of Belarusian emigrants “Belarusian House in Ukraine” (BDU) Vitaly Shishov as soon as possible. This is reported on website political force.
The party did not rule out that Shishov’s death may be related to his political activities. They noted that he was involved in helping the Belarusian opposition and fought against the regime of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. “It cannot be ruled out that he could be the target of the hunt of the Belarusian KGB,” the “Evrosolidarnost” stressed.
Earlier it became known that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky took personal control of the case of the death of Vitaly Shishov. At the same time, Belarusian political scientist Dmitry Bolkunets said that cooperation between Ukrainian and Belarusian law enforcement officers in the course of the murder investigation will be symbolic.
On August 3, the leader of the BDU was found hanged in a park in Kiev. A criminal case was initiated under the article “Intentional Murder”. The organization of the Belarusian emigrants stated that they consider the murder of their leader planned, since he was under surveillance for a long time.
