The latest generation continues the illustrious tradition of this sports signature and sets new benchmarks for compact cars. The technical basis for this is provided by Volkswagen’s Modular Transverse Toolkit (MQB). In all model lines, MQB stands for technological progress, high body rigidity, exemplary low weight and very good impact properties.

The IQ.DRIVE Travel Assist, used for the first time on a Polo GTI, enables semi-autonomous driving. The system can take over the driving, braking and acceleration of the new Polo GTI from 0 km / h up to the Travel Assist control limit (210 km / h). For longitudinal driving, IQ.DRIVE Travel Assist appeals to systems such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). Latitude guidance is supported by Lane Assist, as standard. The driver can activate the system via the Travel Assist button on the multifunctional leather sports steering wheel which has been completely redesigned. Connectivity is the basis of this model. The infotainment system has an integrated eSIM that allows you to use the We Connecte We Connect Plus online services (set up for free use in Europe for one or three years). Features like natural voice control, access to streaming services and cloud-based personalization via “Volkswagen ID” enhance the latest MIB3.1 system. The integration of apps such as App-Connect Wireless for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is now wireless, with smartphone mirroring without the need for a cable connection. As in the Polo, the instruments and the infotainment system are arranged on the driver’s visual axis, ensuring that they can be viewed and used easily in any driving situation. The heart of a GTI is always its engine. Like all previous models, the new Polo GTI is also front-wheel drive. The direct turbo petrol injector shifts gears via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DSG), standard.
