Hay pollen counts are at their highest in July, and it’s the worst time of the year for people with allergies.

Pujon flowering has started in the southwestern parts of Finland, says Norkko, the pollen information of the University of Turku. Pujo pollen amounts are expected to remain low throughout the flowering area.

Turku according to the university’s pollen information, more than a hundred species of grass grow in Finland. According to the Allergy, Skin and Asthma Association, at least 40 of these species produce allergenic pollen. In addition to medical treatment, it is recommended to reduce the transfer of pollen indoors and avoid, for example, drying laundry outside during the pollen season. The weather affects the amount of pollen in the air in such a way that the rain lowers it momentarily, says the pollen information on its website.
