Survey, for 48.4% of Italians the M5S will be a niche party after the next policies. Di Maio’s future? Great center or Pd
Di Maio’s farewell to the Movement is good for the Five Stars. This is what can be deduced by reading the voting intentions of the weekly Political Thermometer poll carried out between 21 and 24 June which for the first time revealed the electoral strength of Together for the Future, the political project launched by the Foreign Minister. According to the survey, the IPF would collect the same amount as the Communist Party, a meager 1%. And the M5S? At the moment he seems to thank: the orphaned pentastellates of “Giggino”, in fact, earn two tenths compared to last week, reaching 12.8%. Meanwhile, Fdi, Pd and Lega move back to 22.9%, 22.3% and 16.7% respectively. Forza Italia grows to 7.6% while Action / + Europe drops to 4.2%. The Greens are close to 3% ahead of Italia Viva and Italexit (each at 2.2%).
After split carried out by Di Maio, many are wondering about the future of the Five Stars. About the future of Di Maio, the scenarios painted by the Italians are different. For 31.1% his new party will be part of a large center, for 26.8% it will be an ally of the Democratic Party in the next elections, for 23.9% it will flow into the Democratic Party or another formation with a patrol of very loyal while very few believe in a reconciliation with Conte and the M5S (2.3%).
Regarding the war between Ukraine and Russia, the majority (56.7%) do not believe in its extension to other neighboring countries. On the other hand, one third of Italians (37.4%) believe it possible.
Almost one in two Italians rejects the strategy adopted by Draghi towards Russia: 42.4% believe we should have remained neutral while 6.8% think we should take this opportunity to forge a stronger relationship with Russia and have gas and oil at even lower prices. On the other hand, 46.4% agree with Draghi, but of these only 6.4% believe the strategy to be effective and with a low cost for the country.
