At the moment, the international system is in a state of transition that could drag on for a long time. This is how Andrey Kortunov, Director General of the Russian International Affairs Council, spoke about the timing of the current global crisis. transmits News.ru.
“This process did not start yesterday and will not end tomorrow – there will be a very serious reformatting of the world order, and this may drag on not for years, but for decades,” the political scientist predicted. In his opinion, the development of the crisis in relations between Moscow and Kyiv depends on how quickly the Russian special operation ends.
Kortunov also added that a number of imposed sanctions could be lifted, but some of the decisions made are irreversible. “If we talk about sanctions, there are probably some sanctions that can be lifted and changed, but the fact that there will be a desire to minimize economic ties with Russia is understandable,” he said.
Earlier it became known that the European Union will prepare new sanctions against Russia. Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg said that this time Russian businessmen would be subject to restrictions. According to him, by imposing sanctions, the EU for the first time “showed its muscles.”
