Political scientist Byshok called the dissolution of NATO an unrealistic scenario
The dissolution of NATO is an absolutely unrealistic scenario today, says political scientist, candidate of political sciences Stanislav Byshok. The specialist shared his opinion in a conversation with Lenta.ru.
“Starting February 2022, NATO once again has a clear, specific and understandable purpose. Both NATO and the European Union (EU) are now much more united than they were when there was no direct and understandable threat in their opinion. NATO is expanding, as we know, at the expense of Finland, at the expense of Sweden,” Byshok said.
According to the political scientist, there is a point of view that if the NATO bloc had ceased to exist after the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact, then there would now be a more peaceful Eurasia, and relations between Russia and Western Europe would be partnerships.
“It probably could have happened, but it didn’t happen,” he concluded.
Now, in 2024, it is quite clear that NATO exists to contain Russia

Earlier, American businessman David Sachs said that after the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact Organization and the collapse of the Soviet Union, the main enemy – the North Atlantic Alliance – should also have ceased to exist. In his opinion, NATO’s goal then was to expand to include the countries of the former Warsaw Pact. This created hostility around the alliance. American billionaire Elon Musk agreed with Sachs's opinion.
