Serbian political scientist Dusan Prorokovic said that Europe dealt a serious blow to the economy with anti-Russian sanctions. He predicted that the consequences of these actions would be so far behind China that countries would not be able to compete with it. About it informs REN TV.
“Fortunately for Serbia, we have a direct contract with Gazprom, we can somehow agree and control the rise in energy prices, and as for the countries that buy gas on the exchange, they are in a catastrophic situation. The price of energy has risen, and the price of natural gas has increased tenfold in one year,” the expert said.
He noted that the measures taken by European states will become unbearable for their economies, since after a while the question of the functioning of industrial enterprises will arise, not to mention heating the homes of ordinary residents.
Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz explained that the West’s imposition of sanctions against Russia serves two purposes. According to him, the restrictions are a tool for putting pressure on Moscow, and also, they open up a place for diplomacy.
