The plane crash in which the Polish president died was an attack and not an accident
Explosive devices on board caused the Smolensk air disaster of 2010 in which the then perished president of Poland, Lech Kaczynski. This was stated by a special Polish investigative commission that carried out new investigations into the incident in the Western Russia which caused the death of another 95 peopleas well as the twin brother of the current ruling party leader, Jaroslaw Kaczynski.
The official delegation was on their way to Smolensk for a ceremony in memory of the massacre of thousands of Poles at the hands of the Soviet secret police in Katyn in 1940. The cause of the accident was subject of a heated national debatebetween those who consider it an attack and those who brand this hypothesis as a conspiracy theory “The real cause of the catastrophe of Smolensk were two explosions in the final phase of the flight, “the government commission said in a report on its website, suggesting that explosive devices had been installed on board.

Freedom and Justice, the current ruling party, has for years argued that the disaster was not accidental, disproving initial investigations that blamed the bad weather and mistakes of Polish pilots and Russian air traffic controllers. That first official investigation was conducted under Donald Tusk’s former liberal government, arch rival of Jaroslaw Kaczynski.
Russia, which refuses to deliver the plane wreck until the conclusion of its investigations, it categorically rejected any attribution of responsibility. The new Warsaw report says traces of explosives were found on fragments of the plane and states that two bombs may have been introduced on board during repairs in Russia.

The works, says the commission, had taken place in Samara in a factory of the manufacturer Aviakor “which at the time belonged to the Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, friend of the then Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin“The report avoids direct accusations and uses cautious language, speaking of the” possibility “of an explosive attack, and argues that the Polish president may have been targeted because of his anti-Russian policy. Jaroslaw Kaczynski last Sunday defined. the incident “an attack” and demanded that “those who made the decision and those who carried it out, here in Poland, but above all in Russia” be identified and punished.
