The police stopped a planned corona protest in front of the university hospital in Dresden. The officials also took action against demo attempts at alternative locations.
Dresden – With a large contingent, the police prevented a demonstration against the Corona measures in Dresden on Thursday evening.
The aim of the alleged “walk”, which was called for in the messenger service Telegram, among other things, was the university hospital. Medical students positioned themselves protectively in front of the clinic grounds. They lined up in white coats and carried signs that read “Vaccinate instead of scolding” and “No power to the ruthless.”
The police were deployed in large numbers and kept urging groups of people to disperse and move on. The situation was sometimes very dynamic, said a police spokesman.
Currently, only demonstrations with a maximum of ten participants are permitted in Saxony. The police recorded the personal details of several participants. At least 45 reports of violations of the Saxon Corona Emergency Ordinance were recorded, as the police announced on Twitter.
The emergency services had secured the premises of the university clinic all around. Police cars were parked at every entrance, reported a dpa reporter. Officials from Saxony and Thuringia and from the Federal Police were on duty. In addition, two water cannons and a Räumpanzer were deployed. A helicopter circled over the city. dpa
