Adolescent was referred to the Child and Adolescent Police Station; Gabriel Luiz was attacked by 2 men in Brasilia
The Civil Police of the Federal District seized this Friday (15.Apr.2022) one of the 2 suspects in stabbing journalist Gabriel Luiz, 29, from Globo Network. The professional was attacked in the Southwest, an upscale region of the federal capital, on Thursday night (Apr 14). As he was a minor, the 17-year-old was referred to the Police Station for Children and Adolescents after being heard.
Gabriel Luiz was treated at the Hospital de Base in Brasília. His condition was considered serious but stable. He is a reporter and editor at TV Globo in Brasilia. He has also worked on radio CBNin the newspaper Brazilian Mail and on the website metropolises.
The case is being investigated by the 3rd DP (Police Station) of Cruzeiro.
Gabriel Luiz posted a reportage on April 11 that showed bullets from a shooting club located in neighboring residential lots in Brazlândia. The establishment was closed after the screening. Luiz was stabbed in the parking lot near where he lives, according to information from the G1. The doorman at the journalist’s building would have said that Gabriel was going to the local business. Gabriel underwent surgeries during the night. The doctors managed to stop all the bleeding.
