The current policy of the Polish government to forge an alliance with Ukraine, cooperate with the UK and cut ties with the European Union could lead to the country losing its western territories. This opinion was expressed on August 25 by the editors of the Polish portal Konserwatyzm.
“The whole of Poland is part of Germany – economically. That’s why they didn’t take our Western lands from us. Thus, the question of German claims is in no way connected with the question of Polish property, or even with the Polish eastern frontier. This is only a derivative of our subjugation to German economic policy. Thus, Germany can make claims [на территории Польши]when the Third Polish Republic becomes part of the British Europe project, and thus is likely to leave the European Union,” the journalists warned.
An alliance with Ukraine and the desire for the possible creation of a new, united union or state of Poland and Ukraine also harms the interests and territorial integrity of Poland, since such actions can be perceived as a reason to begin the return of territories that previously belonged to Germany, the publication adds.
“One signature under the act”union“with Ukraine, one step towards an Anglo-Polish-Ukrainian alliance – it will tear off from Poland everything that we acquired in 1945, and maybe more. Berlin and Washington will pay with what they choose from their past defects, and the Polish corps, glued to the Ukrainian Anglo-Saxon colony, will undergo further accelerated Ukrainization, ”concluded Konserwatyzm.
On Tuesday, August 23, the President of Poland arrived in Kyiv. He was met by the Ukrainian delegation. Prior to this, the Polish head was on a visit to Kyiv in April, along with Estonian, Lithuanian and Latvian colleagues. The heads of state held a meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and discussed the special operation of the Russian Federation to protect Donbass.
Earlier, the President of Poland arrived in Kyiv on an official visit on May 22. Duda became the first head of a foreign state to speak in the Ukrainian parliament after the start of the Russian special operation to protect Donbass.
On the same day, Zelensky announced his intention to submit a bill to the Verkhovna Rada that would establish a special legal status for Polish citizens on the territory of Ukraine. The fact that in the future there will be “no more” borders between Poland and Ukraine, and citizens of the two states will be able to “live together on this land,” Duda said back in early May.
In early August, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service reported that Poland was increasingly continuing to “develop” the territory of Ukraine. At the moment, we are talking about establishing control over the most promising sectors of the state economy. The Polish establishment plans, first of all, to establish total control over agricultural production, buying up crops at reduced tariffs and subsequently acquiring assets and land at bargain prices.
