Daily Express: Poland has begun to rearm for a possible conflict with Russia
Poland intends to rearm its army in order to create the most powerful ground forces in Europe. About it reports Daily Express edition.
According to British media journalists, the country has begun to rearm and recruit thousands of soldiers. The authors of the publication noted that Poland is considering a possible military conflict with Russia and intends to create the most powerful ground army in Europe. Thus, by 2030, the country intends to increase the number of soldiers to 300 thousand people.
As part of its rearmament, Poland transferred a large number of Soviet-era tanks and weapons to Ukraine. This enabled the country to purchase samples of new military equipment from NATO. In particular, the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system was purchased from the United States.
According to experts, theoretically, new weapons could be an advantage in a conflict with Russia, since Moscow may be unfamiliar with the new generation of equipment. However, the authors noted that Poland will in any case be inferior in size to the Russian army.
At the end of October, Polish Sejm member Krzysztof Truskolaski said that the state of affairs in the Polish army against the backdrop of the conflict in Ukraine was causing concern among citizens. According to him, it is important to pay attention to the importance of the country’s stability and combat readiness.
