In a corner, ‘The rings of power’. Opposite, ‘The house of the dragon’. Eight weeks of fierce competition between streaming giants. And, at the same time, two in-depth podcast series, ‘Elves, orcs and hairy’ and ‘Of dragons and wigs’. A presenter of each one has come to the ‘ring’ to fight for his series. And it is that the two productions have many similarities: fantasy worlds with many characters, inspired by book sagas; and a handicap: trying to live up to its older sisters, ‘Game of Thrones’ and the film trilogy of ‘The Lord of the Rings’, both extremely successful, with a long shadow and a large public behind.
Crespo and Labastida express their knowledge, and the guests appear: the journalist Rosa Palo unceremoniously analyzes how flat the characters of the Amazon series are, while Andrea Morán criticizes some weak points of the series on the Targaryens Luis Anarte, feverish reader of both sagas, talks about the differences when it comes to adapting to the screen, and Carlos G. Fernández tries to show that the great difference between the series is, neither more nor less, in the concept of sex or, at least, of perversion.
