Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced something new for PlayStation VR2 owners: starting from August 7th an adapter will be available that will allow you to use the virtual reality headset with PC games supported by SteamVR. The adapter will be available for purchase at selected retailers and on PlayStation Direct at the price of 59.99 euros. To use the PlayStation VR2 with their PC, in addition to the adapter, players will need a DisplayPort cable compatible with the DisplayPort 1.4 standard (sold separately), a Steam account and a PC that meets the following minimum requirements: Windows 10 64-bit / Windows 11 64-bit, Intel Core i5-7600 / AMD Ryzen 3 3100 (Zen 2 or later architecture required), 8GB RAM or more, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 or later, or AMD Radeon RX 6600XT or later, Bluetooth 4.0 or later.
PlayStation VR2 was designed specifically for PlayStation 5, meaning some of its key features will not be available when used on PC. These include HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers and haptic feedback (with the exception of rumble). However, the headset still supports a number of advanced features when connected to a PC, including: 4K resolution, 110-degree field of view, finger touch detection, pass-through, 3D audio.
