The month of October is off to a bad start for PlayStation users. As reported by VGCThe PlayStation Network and all the functions connected to it have been unavailable for the majority of users for several hours now.
A confirmation that also comes from the status page of the network service on PlayStation websitewhich shows that PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store, account management, games and social media are currently compromised. Until the situation is resolved, affected users are unable to play online games, access the PlayStation Store, or check out licenses for digital games, thus rendering them unplayable in some circumstances.
The problems with the PSN service began around midnight on October 1st in the UK, with Sony acknowledging the problems just after 2am. There is currently no timeline for when the malfunctions will be resolved, and Sony has yet to comment publicly on the updates, outside of its network status page.
Moreover, it seems that PlayStation Directwhich requires access to PlayStation Network, is not affected by tonight’s service issues.
We don’t know the timeline required to see the PSN service working again around the world. The hope, obviously, is that it will be resolved as soon as possible, and while waiting for further updates we leave you the review of Astro Bot, the latest PS5 exclusive released last September 6th.
