How much did the PlayStation exclusives on Steam? Especially the biggest titles? Apparently they have all surpassed one million copies, at least according to estimates obtained from SteamSpy, a source not exactly very precise but still indicative, at least to set up a general discourse.
According to what is legible, Horizon Zero Dawn should have sold about 1.357 million copies, Days Gone 1.581 million copies and Death Stranding 1.645 million copies. Of course they are not very precise data, but they help to understand why Sony has decided to strengthen its PC support strategy, even launching a dedicated label (PlayStation PC).
Apparently we are not faced with impressive numbers, but putting them in context gives a very positive picture for Sony, which has found in the PC an excellent source of monetization. Meanwhile, it must be said that the revenues obtained are very high, considering that Steam gives 80% to publishers after they have reached a certain quota. It should also be remembered that we are talking about ports, not titles developed from scratch, therefore with development costs much lower than those of the PS4 versions, the system on which the three games were originally published and on which they have probably reached the breakeven point. , also generating big profits.
Of course, we are far from the numbers made up console, given that for Horizon Zero Dawn we are talking about 13-14 million copies, for Days Gone of 6-7 million copies and for Death Stranding of 3-4 million copies, but the operation as a whole seems to be in any case active, given that we are talking about a large number of copies, to which the sales on theEpic Games Store, certainly lower than those made on Steam, but still interesting given that the Epic store retains only 12% of revenues.
