The former PlayStation CEO states this in an interview.
We know for some time now PlayStation has decided to bring some of its exclusives such as Days Gone And Horizon Zero Dawn also on PC, gathering a lot of support from the players. But we find that the idea came from the former PlayStation CEO Shawn Layden and not by Jim Ryan: it was Layden himself who said it during an interview.
Through the YouTube channel What’s Up PlayStation, Layden said that his idea started with a simple question: how to attract more audiences to the PlayStation universe? And this is where the former CEO decided to bring some of the company’s most popular games that have long been released on PS4 even to those who did not own a console, or on PC.
In this way, not only has PlayStation expanded its player pool but has enabled, as Layden says of “introduce a little bit of PlayStation to people who have never entered this world“.
Y? All thought it was Jim Ryan who brought PlayStation games to PC,
but it was REALLY Shawn Layden? s regime. Y? All owe Jim Ryan an apology pic.twitter.com/63CmZjc2sM
