The Swedish Foreign Ministry said there was no danger to the plane’s crew or passengers, and that work would be done to set a new date for the meeting.
Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergaard and Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer were due to hold their first meeting with Turkish officials, to discuss a security agreement reached to secure Ankara’s approval of Stockholm’s accession to NATO.
Turkey accepted Sweden’s accession to the alliance in January after a delay of more than a year, due to Ankara’s concerns about Sweden’s stance on groups and individuals it considers terrorists, as well as an arms export ban that Stockholm later lifted.
