The candidate for councilor in São Paulo, Adam Maamari (PL), published this Sunday (22.Sep.2024) a video in which he throws flour in the face of the federal deputy and candidate for Mayor of São Paulo Guilherme Boulos (Psol).
In the images on his Instagram profile, Maamari approaches the congressman to ask for a photo during a bike ride on Paulista Avenue. Then, he blows on the flour. An edited cut of the record was published on his social media.
Watch (11s):
Adam Maamari is 21 years old and is running for public office for the first time. Despite calling himself the “Bolsonaro’s James Bond”has posts supporting Pablo Marçal (PRTB) on his social media profile. The former president’s party Jair Bolsonaro (PL) supports the re-election of Ricardo Nunes (MDB).
The former coach has associated Boulos with drug use. The Electoral Court has already convicted him of false negative electoral propaganda against his opponent and imposed a fine of R$30,000.
THE Poder360 reached out to Guilherme Boulos’ campaign to ask if he would like to comment on Adam Maamari’s actions. He said he regretted the incident and stated that his opponents “Bolsonaro supporters Ricardo Nunes and Pablo Marçal encourage this climate in the campaign”.
Read the full response from Guilherme Boulos’ campaign:
“During the Guilherme Boulos Campaign bike ride this Sunday (September 22, 2024), there was an attempted assault at the time of the gathering. Unfortunately, the lies that attempt to associate Boulos with drug use spread by Bolsonaro candidates Ricardo Nunes and Pablo Marçal encourage this climate in the campaign. Unlike his opponents, who act with sensationalism and pretense, Boulos followed the bike route with great popular support.”
