Payments of the PIS/PASEP salary bonus are already being released to workers in the private sector. Deposits will be made until March 31, following a calendar by month of birth. For public service workers, the values will be released from February 15th.
About 22 million people will benefit, totaling R$ 20 billion. The amounts can be withdrawn until December 29, 2022. However, some workers had difficulty making the withdrawals.
Employees who were born in February are eligible to withdraw the benefit, provided they comply with the rules. There are two separate schedules for workers: the allowance for workers in private companies (PIS) and for civil servants (PASEP).

The salary bonus is an annual benefit for the worker, who receives money equivalent to a maximum of one minimum wage (R$ 1,212). Workers registered with PIS/PASEP for at least five years and who have formally worked for at least 30 days in the base year considered for the calculation are entitled to the benefit, with an average monthly remuneration of up to two minimum wages.
The amount of the allowance is proportional to the period in which the employee worked with a formal contract in 2020 (there is still no definition on the base year of 2021). Each month worked is equivalent to a benefit of R$ 101, with periods equal to or greater than 15 days counted as a full month. Those who worked 12 months with a formal contract will receive the full minimum wage of R$ 1,212.
How to withdraw the PIS?
Workers who have a checking or savings account at Caixa, who have already had the amount deposited, can withdraw it with their magnetic card and identification document at Caixa branches, lottery shops, electronic terminals and Caixa Aqui correspondents.
Those who received through Digital Social Savings can move the amount in the Caixa Tem app. If the worker does not have an account at Caixa and the bank has not been able to open the digital savings in his name, the withdrawal can be carried out in person at the branch with presentation of the PIS number and an official photo document, such as RG or driver’s license.
It is also possible to withdraw using the Citizen Card with the password at self-service terminals, lottery units and Caixa Aqui stations, according to the payment schedule.
If unable to make the withdrawal, the worker must check the information on the Ministry of Labor’s service channels: Carteira de Trabalho Digital app; portal www.gov.br; or telephone 158.
