Tests completed
In the last two days the Pirelli completed the tests in collaboration with the Mercedes to develop the intermediate and extreme wet tyres ahead of next season on the French circuit of Magny-Cours. During the first day of testing, however, the weather conditions did not work in favor of the Brackley manufacturer’s reserve driver, Mick Schumacherwho finished only after 29 laps before finally returning to the pits due to heavy rain.
Russell more present on the track
Yesterday, despite the still adverse conditions, George Russell instead he managed to complete a significantly higher number of laps at the wheel of an F1W15. As reported by the sole supplier of tires to Formula 1, the Briton completed well 86 lapsthe equivalent of almost 380 km on the circuit that hosted the French GP between 1992 and 2008, setting the best time in 1:28.428.
Upcoming appointments
The Milanese tire company will return to the track next week to continue its development program for the next world championship, but not only that. The work will proceed to Mugello Between Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 Octoberand will involve three teams. While Red Bull and Ferrari will focus on tires for 2025, the McLaren will be the second team to do their part in supporting the Global Tire Supplier of Formula 1 in the development of tires for 2026.
