The tire manufacturer Pirelli has decided to donate 500 thousand euros to help war-affected Ukrainian refugees. “The company will also make a current account available to employees to collect their donations as well. Pirelli strongly condemns what is happening and is close to the people who are suffering“, Reads a press release published by the company.
Meanwhile, according to what the newspaper reports The print, Pirelli is at the center of a transfer of shares in its Russian branch. Rostec’s stake in Pirelli, a company sanctioned after the start of the conflict, was sold by the company to the Niir group. “The planned completion of the transfer of the investment held in Pirelli Tire Russia by Rostec to its subsidiary Niir – Pirelli reported – it is the result of an internal reorganization operation within the Rostec group launched since 2020 and the recent issue of sanctions by Rostec itself has no relevance in this regard“.
The Niir company, which is also involved in the tire sector, does not appear to be sanctioned. Pirelli Tire Russia produces tires for extreme climates in the Voronezh plant, with exports also outside Russia. Clearly the situation of the conflict could lead to further evolutions regarding these industrial agreements, as demonstrated in the last hours by several companies that are reducing or even suspending production in Russia.
