Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Ultimate Edition will not come out on Nintendo Switch. Publisher Versus Evil and developer Obsidian Entertainment announced the end of work on the version of the game for the Nintendo console, which had never been heard of again.
The announcement came on the Versus Evil Discord channel: “Unfortunately, after much thought we have decided not to continue with Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Ultimate Edition for Nintendo Switch.“
The Ultimate Edition of the game would include all the DLCs released for the other versions of Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, including Beast of Winter, The Forgotten Sanctum and Seeker, Slayer, Survivor. In total they would have been more than one hundred hours of gameplaybut nothing will be done about it.
After all we are talking about a project announced years ago that never materialized, considering that Versus Evil began to mention it in 2019.
Unfortunately the reasons cancellation. The most probable hypotheses are the difficulties of a technical nature, which had already plagued the first Pillars of Eternity and the possibility that over the years the project has become less and less interesting from an economic point of view.
