Truly a moving story
This is a beautiful story of friendship that goes beyond any prejudice. And that could teach many things to those who still discriminate against people today because they have a disability. This is the story of a piglet and a dog with special needs who met, liked each other and became best friends forever.
Winnie was only 6 weeks old when he arrived at the Freedom Farm in Charlotte, United States of America. The new owners realized that he had obvious developmental problems in his forelegs.
Winnie couldn’t walk well. Unfortunately, the lungs and heart also had some problems, since they were not properly protected by the rib cage. He could not play with other dogs and with the other farm animals. The owners were worried about him. But one day something changed.
The main problem now is that I have to limit what he does because he is at a high risk of something happening.
This is the story of Lauren Edwards, his human mom. When they thought it might be sad, a little sow named Wilma was brought to the same farm where Winnie lived.
He wandered near the farm. Maybe she had escaped from a cattle truck. Winnie became his best friend.
Pig and dog with special needs are truly inseparable today
Winnie and Wilma are inseparable today. They play together until they can’t stand it anymore. The owner always keeps an eye on them for fear that something might happen to the poor dog.
Edwards says the puppy has helped Wilma feel at home because the pig hasn’t been put together with her kin yet, but stays at home with them. Over time, however, it will grow and become larger than the sick puppy, so you will need to take precautions to let them play together.
