The water caused the sinking, washing away and demolishing the cemeteries of the Ghout Rabah area in Marsa Matrouh, which resulted in the floating of the dead bodies.
A security source told Sky News Arabia that the authorities, with the help of the families, are working to address the situation and suction water from the area in order to restore the cemeteries, re-shroud and bury the remains of the dead again.
The source also pointed out that the Matrouh Governorate authorities deployed emergency teams in all the governorate’s streets to suck water, purify the torrents and take the necessary preparations to confront the wave of bad weather that the country is going through.
It should be noted that 10 Egyptian governorates were subjected to severe rainfall, which resulted in torrential rains and accumulation of water in the streets, including Cairo, Giza, Qalyubia, Alexandria, Damietta, Kafr El-Sheikh, Marsa Matrouh and Beheira, all of which declared a state of emergency as well as disrupting the study until the end of the bad weather wave that started since Friday night.
