On Sunday, the Jordanian Public Security announced the locating of the killer of the young woman, Iman Irsheed, in the Balama area of Mafraq, who fired 5 bullets at her inside the Jordan Applied Sciences University campus, on Thursday, then fled the crime scene.
A security source told “Sky News Arabia” that the killer was killed by shooting himself when he was surrounded.
The father of the dead girl told Sky News Arabia: “I want to match the body with the university’s cameras and make sure that the dead man is the one who killed my daughter.”
Nour Irsheed, the victim’s brother, also posted a picture of the dead man’s body on Facebook, with the comment: “Blood is blood.”
Earlier, the spokesman for the Security Directorate said that the identity of the killer had been identified, and that he “planned his crime and tried as much as possible to conceal his identity and his impact through deceptive methods.”.
He added that “his house and several locations were raided, and he was not found there, and the search for him is still going on.”
Jordanians and the victim’s family demanded, through social media and local news sites, that the perpetrator be punished, who, if arrested, would have faced a charge of premeditated murder, the punishment of which is death by hanging..
The University of Applied Sciences issued a statement saying: “With hearts wracked by pain and believing in God’s judgment and destiny, the university mourns its student, Iman Irsheed,” pledging to “prosecute everyone who caused this painful incident until he receives just retribution for his heinous crime.”“.
Jordanians circulated the hashtag (#Execution of the Applied Killer) on social media, calling for the killer to be punished.
This crime in Jordan comes days after an Egyptian young man stabbed his colleague in front of her university in the city of Mansoura in northern Egypt, apparently after she refused to be associated with him.
