The acquisition of Activision Blizzard by the colossus Microsoft is now on everyone’s lips, a new gigantic piece – and not only for the exorbitant sum paid out – for the Redmond company that will open literally hundreds and hundreds of possibilities. A direct consequence of the transaction of the year, was clearly the interest on the part of the whole world, and not just the players, to find out as much as possible about it, and above all about what new steps will be taken. In the last few hours Phil Spencer gave a new interview to The Washington Post, during which the CEO of Xbox also stated some of the IPs he is most interested in.
“I was looking at the IP list” Spencer said, “And in short, let’s go! King’s Quest, Guitar Hero…You have names which he also approached immediately afterwards HeXen.
But it does not end there, continuing with the interview, the CEO stated that the Xbox team will speak with the developers of Toys For Bob, study considered – in hindsight – absolutely valid, to work on a particular variety of franchises by the Activision Blizzard studios. In fact, Spencer also praises the excellent launch of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, or other beloved characters like Spyro the Dragon.
One sentence from the interview in particular looks almost like a wink, where it emphasizes how now Xbox is in possession of the original Sony PlayStation “mascot” (precisely Crash).
However, this seems to be only the tip of the iceberg, because only by mentioning some of the names that the Redmond giant now has, you get goosebumps. We talked about this and more in a couple of dedicated articles, where the hopes of the players and the moves to be implemented also in the digital field, could actually combine into one thing.
We look forward to further news to find out what – and how many – surprises the future will hold for us, a future that seems to be increasingly tinged with green.
