Wladimir Costa is accused of exposing the private life of deputy Renilce Nicodemos on social media
The PF (Federal Police) arrested former federal deputy Wladimir Costa (Solidariedade-PA) this Thursday morning (18.Apr.2024), at Belém International Airport (PA), accused of committing electoral crimes and offending the federal deputy Renilce Nicodemus (MDB-PA) on social networks.
According to note issued by the institution, Costa was approached by agents upon disembarking in the capital of Pará and taken to the State's prison system.
Also according to the PF, preventive detention was authorized due to the repeated practice of political violence against Nicodemos on social networks. Costa made a post exposing the deputy's private life. Nicodemus claims that the former congressman acted to undermine his public and political image.
TRE-PA (Regional Electoral Court of Pará) ordered the deletion of the posts that led to the arrest warrant.
This is not the first time that Costa has responded for online offenses. In January last year, he was convicted of offending artists such as Glória Pires and Wagner Moura. In December 2017, the then deputy had his mandate revoked for abuse of economic power and illicit spending in the 2014 electoral campaign.
