Peugeot expands its range of electric vehicles with the arrival of new E-408the 100% electric version of the Peugeot 408. This E-408 is equipped with a 157 kW (210 HP) electric motorpowered by a 58.2 kWh NMC battery net, which ensures autonomy of up to 453 km. It joins the versions with engine 1.2 petrol with 130 HPto the48 Volt hybrid with 136 HP and versions 180 and 225 HP plug-ins.
The innovative design of the new Peugeot E-408 combines elegance and modernity, using the E-EMP2 multi-energy platform which allows for total electrification without compromising style or comfort. With a length of 4.69 m and a width of 1.85mthe E-408 features a wheelbase of 2.79 mallowing the installation of the battery in the underbody to maximize internal space and improve stability.
The slim and sporty profile, with a height of 1.49 moffers a feline posture and dynamic road behavior. On the road the turning radius is 11.18 m. Featuring wide tracks and a distinctive design, the E-408 includes details such as “cat ears” and a rugged black rear bumper, while i 19-inch Graphite wheels reduce rolling resistance.
The grille in body color ei Slim LED headlights they give a modern and recognizable identity, with the light signature that includes LED strips and three claws on the back. The new Peugeot E-408 is available in five colours: Okenite White, Obsession Blue, Selenium Grey, Elixir Red and Black Pearl Black.
Cockpit, what the interior of the E-408 looks like
The new Peugeot E-408 is a high-end fastback in the C segment, with a very modern and comfortable interior. The interiors therefore stand out for ambient LED lighting in eight colors and high-quality materials such as fabric and aluminiumdepending on the trim level.
Acoustic comfort is improved thanks to front and rear windows greater thicknesswhile the air conditioning and strategically positioned vents ensure good thermal comfort. Also, the optional AQS (Air Quality System) monitors indoor air quality, and the purification system Clean Cabin filters polluting gases and particles.

Infotainment and i-Cockpit instruments
The Peugeot i-Cockpit is the strong point of the interior of the new E-408, with a compact steering wheel which improves maneuverability and a 3D digital instrument panel 10-inch screen positioned at eye level.
Infotainment is entrusted to the system Peugeot i-Connect Advancedwhich offers connected navigation with a 10 inch display“over the air” updates and a trip planning function to maximize autonomy. The smartphone connection is wireless (Apple CarPlay/Android Auto) and the car has four USB-C ports.
THE five i-toggles configurable allow quick access to different functions, while voice control “Ok Peugeot” It offers ease of use and also integrates ChatGPT to answer questions or provide entertainment. The new Peugeot E-408 is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor 157 kW (210 hp) and a couple of 345 Nmpowered by a high voltage battery from 58.2 kWh. Using technology NMC 811 (80% nickel, 10% manganese, 10% cobalt), offers superior energy density and autonomy of 453 km in the WLTP mixed cycle.
The car includes one regenerative braking with three intensity levels, activated via paddles behind the steering wheel. Levels include: Low (-0.6 m/s²) for sensations similar to a thermal vehicle, Moderate (-1.3 m/s²) for greater deceleration, e Increased (-2.0 m/s²) for maximum deceleration and regeneration, with the final two levels activating the brake lights.
Furthermore, the driver can choose between three driving modes: Normal (140 kW/190 HP, 300 Nm) for a balance between dynamism and autonomy, Sport (157 kW/210 HP, 345 Nm) for maximum performance, ed ECO (125 kW/170 HP, 270 Nm) to maximize range. The E-408 is also equipped with one heat pump and heated seats, which improve thermal comfort without compromising battery power.
As for charging, it supports a charger 11 kW three-phase for alternating current and up to 120 kW for direct currentallowing you to recharge from 20% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. The aerodynamics have been carefully designed, with an electrical consumption of 15.2 kWh/100 km and a series of features that optimize energy efficiency and driving comfort.
Peugeot ADAS on the 408
On board the new Peugeot E-408, a complete set of ADAS systems latest generation driving aids, which use information from 5 cameras and 3 radars to ensure safe driving and facilitate manoeuvres. Here are some of the systems on board the 408:
- Adaptive cruise control with Stop and Go function, which allows you to adjust the safety distance between vehicles.
- Automatic emergency braking with collision risk warning, capable of detecting pedestrians and cyclists both day and night, with a speed range from 7 km/h to 140 km/h.
- Active lane departure warning with trajectory correction.
- Driver attention warningwhich monitors the level of attention during long journeys and at speeds above 65 km/h, analyzing the micro-movement of the steering wheel.
- Extended traffic sign recognition and display in the instrument panel, including stop, no entry and no overtaking signs.
- Blind spot monitoring up to 75 meters.
- Rear traffic alertwhich provides warning signals when reversing.
Allure and GT trims
The new E-408 is offered in two versions: Allure And GT. E-408 Allure it has LED headlights as standard, 19″ alloy wheels, i-Cockpit with customizable 10″ digital instrument panel, connected navigation, “Ok Peugeot” voice command, wireless mirroring for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 6-way audio system speakers, heated driver seat and steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear parking camera and sensors, and heat pump.
On the E-408GT in addition to the Allure’s equipment, there are also the Matrix LED headlightsfront parking sensors, aluminum interior trim with 8-color customizable ambient lighting, aluminum door sill plates, powered tailgate and the package Drive Assist Plus for level 2 semi-autonomous driving.
Price, how much does the electric E-408 cost
The price of the new electric Peugeot E-408 is around 45,000 euros. Furthermore, like all electric models, it is supported by the program Peugeot Allure Carewhich offers coverage for the electric motor, charger and major components for up to 8 years or 160,000 kmsupported by an 8-year/160,000 km warranty for the high-voltage battery. The assistance program recommended by Peugeot is for everyone 2 years or 25,000 km.
