As head of AD Sportwereld, Van Duyl played an important part in the increasingly multimedia reporting of sports and the stories behind the athlete. He always made sure that new ways of reporting were not at the expense of quality. Van Duyl: ,, Journalism is a world that is constantly in motion and that certainly applies to the AD. Making a difference with reliability and quality is what I strive for.”
Van Duyl started in 1989 at the Zoetermeersche Courant, a forerunner of the present AD, where he worked on both the sports and city editorial staff. He also worked for the Delftsche and Haagsche Courant before joining the in 2005 AD got started. He was a sports reporter for a total of eighteen years.

Editor-in-chief Rennie Rijpma is looking forward to the collaboration: “Peter is typically someone who, in the hectic pace of daily work, asks a sobering question that makes everyone pause and think. That is very welcome in an environment where there is a tendency to run all the time.”
