The mortality rate increased due to the coronavirus occurred not only in Russia, but also in all countries of the world. This was stated by the Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov, reports RIA News…
He called the current situation the harsh reality of a pandemic.
Peskov added that the Russian health care system worked effectively and proved its reliability and high mobilization potential.
Commenting on statements that some regions underestimated mortality statistics from coronavirus, and the indicators turned out to be higher, Peskov said that the subjects of the Federation reacted and continue to respond to the situation adequately, and somewhere “there could be their own specifics”.
On February 8, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said that the contribution of coronavirus to the increase in mortality in the country is 31 percent. According to her, the death rate in the country in 2020 increased by 17.9 percent compared to 2019. Golikova pointed out that the tense situation in December affected the overall annual figures.
